On 29 and 30 May 2010, the President of the ICC, Judge Sang-Hyun Song, paid a two-day visit to Gulu district in the Acholi sub-region (north Uganda). He interacted with various groups of affected communities and responded to questions and addressed concerns raised by representatives of women and youth groups, internal displaced people, and representatives of unions of people with disabilities, amongst others.

The Review Conference taking place in Kampala, Uganda, from 31 May to 11 June 2010, is a significant milestone for the International Criminal Court. It is the first opportunity for the States Parties to the Rome Statute to make amendments to the Statute since its entry into force on 1 July 2002. Additionally the Review Conference is an occasion for a “stocktaking” of international justice.

The event is open to the States Parties to the Rome Statute, observer States, and States not having observer status as well as intergovernmental organizations and other entities. Additionally, numerous representatives of the civil society, including non-governmental organizations and representatives of victim’s organizations will attend the Conference.
